You will get a certificate from Kennel Club of India mentioning the dog's name, breed, pedigree, date of birth, gender, etc...
They will also give you a microchip with a unique code to identify your dog.

Once you get it, you might want to transfer the ownership. For that there is a form which requires the breeder's signature and you will receive a new certificate with the updated info. There is another form if you want to change your dog's name.

Depending on where you live, you might have to register your dog with the municipality as well.

Ask the vet for a booklet/journal to keep a record of your dog's vaccinations, weight, deworming schedule, etc...
This is essential if you intend to travel with your dog abroad.
